I had a shower this morning (don’t sound so shocked) and Bennet played with his bathtime toys in the bathroom next to me as I did so. Afterwards, when we were both leaving the bathroom, Bennet turned and said, “Uh, oh, look!” And went back in to put away the toys he left all over the floor.
My two year old is a neater individual than I.

Now the great thing about the advent of the internet and parenthood, is both sides of the following equation win: the proud Papa can show off endless redundant images of his offspring, and hapless victims don’t have to sit through a mind-numbing slideshow if they don’t want to! Click-click, no feelings hurt! 2 Minutes of Bennet playing with a door. Don’t worry, you won’t be quizzed

If a picture is worth 1000 words, at 30 frames each second, this is equivalent to a 2 million word essay on babies laughing.

…and make it double.
Because my little monkey has learned to pull himself up, and has spent the last two weeks pulling himself up on everything, and yanking and sucking on everything he can get his grubby little monkey paws on. I told you we shoulda’ never walked in his presence, so then he wouldn’t get any ideas!

Well, I gotta say this monkey gets more and more adorable and human-like, if that’s even possible. He is a regular chatterbox “mamamammadadadapapapgagaga nmunmunmunuhhhh ack squeek”. And we are starting to feed him solids, so his current diet is breast, formula, and squishy solid lunches. AND he eats a lot! Now when the spoon is in front of him, he opens his mouth wide and leans in (when he likes it: banana=good; avacado=bad). yaaaay, conditioned responses!!!

So one of the constant debates of the Graus is what, or rather where to go. When. Why? How? There is overwhelming desire to have house ownage. or rather, mortgage, which leads to ownage. But the feasibility of that seems…. not all that feasible in the UK. but some of those little towns are sooooooooo cute. but the town we’re in now, the youth are mainly chavs, which in american means little punk-ass trouble-makers, so that means we double don’t want Bennet to be seeing these guys as influences, it’ll be tough enough getting him past the bad influence of me.
But I am in america this christmas, staying with my parents, now with a family of my own, and that’s really something I miss. In the UK, we’re pretty much out there on your own, even the people we do know in London, well they’re in London, and we live out in dirty ol Slough, which is still a train ride and then some away. But having family close by like this, this is something else, something irreplaceable. I just wanna say, it nice to be home for the holidays.
O yes. Ahem:
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

Right. Well we don’t have no internets, so you don’t get no blogs. But the shorts: everythings has somethings going on with it. We would’ve had internets by today, but the Virgins Medias cancelled our installations. Our previous landlord was a little unfriendly towards the end. Our current flat has a plethora of move-in issues that are unresolved, and I’m not sure that the landlord will resolve them. We’re working towards making it a livable home, as it was supposed to be when we moved in! Commute from the new place is a little more sucky-ducky. Shopping is not next door as it was in Ealing.
The baby… is a baby, doing the things babies do. what a sweet little baby. He started off only crying, but now he makes little sounds, sqeaks, grunts, snores, and of course the full out wail.
Now I’m back to work, yay!

You were a bit early, guy, and then took your own sweet time to finish the journey out, but you seemed pleased enough to be here– we’re glad to have you! I’ve never felt anything remotely as intensely as when I saw you pop out of mommy’s pootie and let go that first wail (probably first of many) and I know we’re gonna have some great adventures together!
